BEYOND BALDWIN
This is a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are dedicated to social justice at UGA. They believe in a more just and inclusive future for students and community members of color. They have drafted a list of demands for UGA to demonstrate its commitment to people of color both on campus and in the Athens community.
MULTICULTURAL SERVICES & PROGRAMS AT UGA
This Office within Student Affairs at UGA aims to create an inclusive environment by hosting lecture series on diversity, equity, and inclusion; planning events in recognition of cultural history and heritage; and providing resources to students, including information about relevant student organizations on campus.
MCNAIR SCHOLARS
Named after Dr. Ronald E. McNair and inspired by his achievements, the goal of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase the number of underrepresented students in doctoral programs. Each year, The UGA McNair Scholars program selects up to 25 undergraduate students to participate in academic and research activities to prepare them for graduate school.
BLACK MALE LEADERSHIP SOCIETY (BMLS)
This Society serves as a community for men to continuously support and encourage one another. BMLS develops and highlights the leadership of Black men in their communities to encourage positive relationships. Their work seeks to engage and affect the lives of others beyond UGA campus boundaries. Follow them on Instagram!
ABENEEFOO KUO HONOR SOCIETY
This society provides scholarship, service, and leadership opportunities to encourage students in their pursuit of excellence. They provide enrichment experiences not included in the regular curriculum to promote and develop leadership, also offering educational, career, and personal assistance. They have a Twitter!
BLACK THEATRICAL ENSEMBLE
The Black Theatrical Ensemble (BTE) aims to share the perspective of the Black experience and preserves the legacy of Afro-centric theatre. They produce of plays, essays, poems, and other literary works written by Black authors, plus works from authors of all races who write about issues in the African-Americacademic year to give interested individuals the opportunity to develop their theatrical abilities and provide audiences with cultural enrichment.

BLACK EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TEAM (BEST)
The Black Educational Support Team (BEST) orienting new African-American freshmen students to UGA campus life. A team of peer mentors serves as informational resources, peer counselors and referral agents. They also host activities outside the classroom for incoming African-American freshmen. RECLAIMING OUR TIME
This group provides a space for African American female graduate students to come together and process the unique aspects of their graduate school experience. They explore themes of interest to African American women and provide evidence-based coping skills to enhance members' emotional well-being and academic performance.
MINORITY STUDENT SCIENCEÂ ASSOCIATION (MSSA)
The Minority Student Science Association (MSSA) is a student-run organization for minority undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the sciences. The group was founded upon the principles of educating and preparing its members to be leaders for tomorrow. It serves as a network to support all aspects of preparing minorities for professional schools (e.g. medical, dental, pharmacy) or for graduate programs within science-related disciplines. BLACK AFFAIRS COUNCIL
The Black Affairs Council aids the University of Georgia in meeting the needs of the Black student body by offering programming; social, academic and political events; and organizing community service initiatives. Follow them on Twitter!
UGA CHAPTER OF NAACP
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) at UGA works to create a society in which everyone has equal rights without discrimination based on race. In doing this they: create a support network for students of color, inform the public of the adverse effects of racial discrimination and to seek its elimination, and educate persons as to their constitutional rights. GRADS
Graduate Research Assistants Diversifying STEM (GRADS) works to ensure the incorporation, support, and matriculation of historically underrepresented graduate students in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines at the University of Georgia (UGA). They do this by creating a sense of community to give students social support, hosting professional development events to equip students with necessary skills for success, and organizing community outreach events to bring awareness to minority students in STEM across UGA.
PEACH STATE LSAMP
The Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) aims to increase the number of underrepresented minority students who complete undergraduate and advanced degrees in Georgia, as well as those thriving in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. This goal is accomplished with comprehensive and integrated recruitment and retention initiatives during key transition points from undergraduate recruitment through graduate school completion. The promotion of undergraduate research is also a key component of their work.
AARLS collaborates with this group to pair undergraduate mentees with graduate student mentors.
